The Joshua Tree Ranch is a private ranch just outside Joshua Tree National Park
that is along
the county designated scenic road that leads to the Park's main entrance. The Ranch
was established in 2001 as a primary agricultural land use and
continues to be primarily a private working space for those who conduct agricultural
activities like raising animals. Within the Ranch, there is a 12.5 acre area with equestrian
facilities that are open by appointment to the general public for trail
riding. This stable is your typical horse farm - equine boarding, trail riding,
training areas, random farm animals
roaming, that sort of thing, but surrounded by lots of wild and open
space. We are very proud of it.
The Joshua Tree Ranch is part of a 60 acre district of rurally zoned land where
agricultural land uses are the primary land use. The ranches &
farms that are part of this district are under separate control but
cooperate in areas of common interest, such as equestrian access,
wildfire control and conservation initiatives. The local area has it own
system of trails and roads and access to some of the nicest horseback
riding in California and some of the best western riding found anywhere.
We are excited that the newly adopted Joshua Tree Community Plan and
County General Plan signals the county's commitment to expanded use of
equestrian trails and guaranteed equestrian access to public lands. |
